munster v leinster

munster are in big trouble this weekend !! they are playing the saints on saturday in thomand park, if paul o’connell isnt fit i think the saints will go marching on. After watching them play against leinster on friday night I thought leinster were by far the better team even with out bod, munster are getting old and they dont seem to be bringing many younger players through especially in the pack. Leinster had more line breaks in the game and were dominant in the loose, the only thing keeping munster in the game was rog’s goal kicking,even though leinster had two men in the bin on the night munster couldnt make it count. I have say leinster’s defence is awesome and clermont will find it very tough to get a try on friday nights Heineken cup quarter-final.

Jonny Sexton had a mixed game and he is making me very nervous sometimes with his kicking which can be very erratic, he got some serious stick from the munster crowd who cant understand why or how sexton was Ireland,s no.10 in the six nations. The try rob kearney got was very lucky but as i said earlier on lienster made all the breaks in the game, sexton missed an easy kick before the try but then kicked a great conversion. Munster huffed and puffed but couldn’t for the life of them get a penalty to win the match in the last few minutes in the game, leinster held on to win 16-15, very close on the score board but leinster should have had a couple of trys with all their possession.

Finally I predict Leinster to beat Clermont and Northampton to beat munster !!

Leinster needed a good hard game before they played munster next friday. however they were blessed connaught blew it big time, they had the game won only for cronin missed the try line by a whisker. The men from the west were by far the better team on the night, finn carr need not worry about his future he will be snapped up by a bigger team !! his two trys were well taken although one of them was dodge as he was well on the wrong side of the ruck.

cheika will be not happy by his teams performance and he will let them know big time. clermont averaugne will be a far bigger treat than connaught and leinster better have bod back or they are in trouble. sexton played all right and his drop goal at the end was very good, I hope all leinsters players will be fit and raring to go against munster, munster wil be seeking some sort of revenge for the rds and semi in the heinken last year.

my prediction is leinster to win !!

first of all id like to say congrats to are celtic neighbours the scots well done !! secondly ireland made you’s look good !! ireland were way to cocky for this game, paul o’connell was very disappointing and should be dropped for the best line out operator in the game leo cullen end of !! donncha callaghan out played his second row partner, darcy was not up to speed at all and he made a very average player like graeme morrison look good, bod had an average six nations by his standards.

Kidney was in shock after the game you wonder was eddie o’sullivan having a wry smile to himself !! basically were in trouble in the scrum so we need to bring in court and ross and put the bull out to pasture ! they need game time to improve especially for the world cup. our pack was very disappointing on saturday and euan murray destroyed us he is some prop pity it wasnt sunday when we played them as he is anti sunday rugby cus of his religious beliefs !! so were do we go from here ?? well we are a good team i just thing our pack is letting us down and our backs as usual are better than our pack , some of handling from the backs was outstanding even if bods try was a yard forward !! tommy bowe is lethal at the moment and still plenty of years left in him !! im still not convinced about earls his trys were handy enough i probably would have scored them.

oh by the way the chariot is back again (england ) I was roaring them on against a very poor france !! england were outstanding toby flood was on the gain line and was on top form. but unfortunately they didnt take their chances, one try to england none to the flamboyant france makes you wonder hmmm !!

ireland hammer wales

that was an easy game for ireland, they never looked in trouble at all during the game. their defence is rock solid thanks to les kisses magic touch, and our attack from first phase especially is awesome thanks to the great alan gaffney. thats the good points but wales were missing five of their fist team so it was going to be an easy result for the men in green, imagine ireland going to the millenium stadium without bod,poc,rog,wallace and hayes ?? wales would hammer us !! but u can only play whats in front of you so ireland did well. our scrum is still a major problem, hopefully gert smal can work on this as if were playing the all blacks we would be in serious trouble. Sexton needs to up his kicking percentage big time at this level 50% is not good enough, his play in open field is very good as he always threatens the game line. Stephen jones tried his luck down sextons channel a few time but he got no change, if it was rog he would have run over him. Geordan murphy was rock solid under the high ball, kearney will have to do something special to replace him now, although after watching france playing magic rugby from attack I was wondering why kearney doesnt do the same as he is more than capable of it, maybe thats just the ireland game plan, I personally would like to see more running from the backs instead of up and unders. Tomas o’leary got man of the match and he deserved it scoring one try and stopping another what more can one ask !! Scotland up next wont be easy, they have just one point from the championship against a boring england, italy are ahead of scotland on points so andy robinson will not wont the wooden spoon. i predict a ireland win even though it wil not be easy, kidney wants to leave croker on a high !!

one day to go before we kick wales ass !! we hope, but in fairness we have the better player ie paul o’connell and donncha o’callaghan versus luke chateris and bradley davis !!! no competition there !! as well as that we have a far superior back row. but swiftly moving on wales are a dangerous team ! i will be going to croker tomorrow to see the match although i rather watch it from the comfort of my leather couch, ill tape it anyway to try and catch the bits i missed.

bod bod bod what hasnt been said about the greatest player ever to wear the green jersey, what an achievement one hundred caps and counting !! id reckon he is aiming for the world cup and he will probably go out on a high after that !! wales are a good attacking team if they get a good start tomorrow it could be a long day for kidneys gang, although i doubt it. we have to much experience for them, i just hope shane williams isnt on fire !!

Ireland v Wales

Im really looking forward to this game, and i think it will be irelands day again. we have to much strength in the tight five, although are scrum can be dodge at the best of times. It will be interesting to see who gets the nod at fullback id personaly give murphy another go as he did nothing wrong against a boring england. Wales are very dangerous in the loose but our defence is top notch, id be a bit nervous about shane williams who is in top form again, its a pity he wasnt in that form on the lions tour. Bod will win his 100th cap just as the bull did against england, in my opion he has been the best player in the world for the last ten years, and has brought irelands rugby on to a new level. It will be interesting to see who kidney picks, i hope he changes it around a bit, id like to see a back row of ferris, heaslip, and jennings. Oh and id love to see shaggy back in the mix he has played superbly for the european champs this last year.

I was watching against the head last night and it was a good show as usual. leinster are now in a great position in the magners league, they have games in hand are top of the league, cheika is going to be badly missed when he returns to oz what a great coach he is. he is blooding new players like o’malley and conway the futures bright the futures blue.
